We’ve heard a little about Netflix’s upcoming cyberpunk series Altered Carbon, and now with the release of the first trailer, consider our interest, well, piqued. If you’re planning to binge this, it’s time to make sure you’re on leave on Feb 2, 2018.
Set more than 300 years into the future, Altered Carbon is about “murder, love, sex and betrayal”, according to Netflix. In 2318, technology allows your conciousness to be digitised – now human bodies are interchangeable, and death is no longer permanent.
Altered Carbon stars Joel Kinnaman (Robocop, Suicide Squad), James Purefoy (Rome), Martha Higareda (Steven Universe), Renee Elise Goldsberry (The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks), Will Yun Lee (Hawaii Five-0) and Dichen Lachman (Dollhouse).
The series is from creator and executive producer Laeta Kalogridis (Birds of Prey, Terminator Genisys), and is based on the 2002 cyberpunk noir novel by Richard K. Morgan of the same title.
