Dark action fantasy series Halfworlds is back for its second season later on Sunday night (Jan 22) on HBO Asia, but if you’re not a subscriber there’s going to be a way for you to catch the first episode for free online.
The first episode will be available online on www.hboasia.com from Jan 30, a week after the original broadcast and just in time for the Chinese New Year weekend. It’ll be available online for a week, so that you can then decide if you want to subscribe to HBO and catch the rest of the series.
Season 2 of the series – HBO Asia’s first original series to return for a second season – will feature eight episodes. This time, the action moves from Indonesia to Thailand, with two of the original cast returning: Reza Rahadian (Tony) and Arifin Putra (Barata). Judging from the trailer above, it looks even better than season one – director Ekachai Uekrongtham is a great choice.
This new season follows a researcher, Juliet, who tries to uncover the secret world of demons, known as Peesaj who look like and live among us (like the Demit from season 1?). However, her curiosity attracts the attention of the Peesaj, and one of them, Fyter, is sent to kill her.
Halfworlds season 2 premiers with double episodes on Jan 22, only on HBO. A new episode will air each Sunday till the final double episodes on Feb 26 . Season 2 will also be available on HBO On Demand (StarHub TV Ch 602) and StarHub Go.
