Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Swordsmith Village- Fan Screening in Singapore

We got invited to check out the World Tour screening of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Swordsmith Village- in Singapore before the TV adaptation airs in April!

We were kindly invited by Muse SG for the first fan screening in Singapore!

The Demon Slayer Corps are Back!

ufotable is back with the third season of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime series this year and they’re kicking it off with a huge world tour screening. We were invited by Muse SG to the first Singapore Fans’ Screening for the film at Golden Village Vivocity and what an experience to watch the awesome animation quality that ufotable creates on a massive theater screen.

A Short Review

The feature-length production brings together episodes 10 and 11 of the previous season’s Entertainment District Arc with the first episode (an hour-long special, no less) of the Swordsmith Village arc and I have to say it was spectacular to watch on a huge movie screen. The epic final confrontation in the Entertainment District Arc is extremely well animated (as expected of ufotable) but it’s just a bigger delight on a movie screen.

The opening of the Swordsmith Village arc is a visual treat with an extended look at the Infinity Castle as well as the rest of the Twelve Upper Moons or Twelve Kibuki, the higher level demons under the main antagonist, Muzan as well as showing off two more of the Demon Slayer Corps Pillars (or Hashiras), the Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito and the Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanoji.

Along with the film, attendees also recevied some premium Demon Slayer items including a nifty visual compliation of the animation as well as a bromide collection of the characters featured in the film.

If you’re a Demon Slayer fan, it’ll be hard to give this screening a miss (unless you’re content to wait till April for the TV episodes to begin airing) – the best part was hearing an entire cinema laughing along with you at the humourous parts of the animation while also hearing some quiet sobs at the touching moments.

The visuals, sound effects, music and overall ambience is something you definitely won’t be able to get watching it at home (yes, it was my first time at an anime fan’s screening so it was quite a fresh experience) and seeing an adorable Nezuko running around on a huge screen is a huge “KAWAII!!” moment.

Apart from that, the new featured opening theme to the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Swordsmith Village- by Man with a Mission x milet impressed my friend who came along with me for the screening (here’s her quick review and a cosplay of some of the characters you’ll see in the upcoming arc)

Once again, a huge thank you to Muse SG for the invite to the fans’ screening. I’ll probably be dedicating some time to going through the previous seasons of Demon Slayer in anticipation of the new season after all the hype I absorbed at the screening. Oh and I’ll probably be putting the new OP on loop on my Spotify playlist too.
