Sick of cracking your phone screen, non-stop notifications, clashing clans or super-short battery life? Filled with the need to relive mobile technology from almost 20 years ago? Here comes the Nokia 3310 3G, a relaunch of sorts of the original classic Nokia phone. It launches in Singapore next month (October), Nokia brand licensee HMD Global said.
The new Nokia 3310 3G comes with new colours and a user interface which you can adjust to suit their mood, and tweak so that their favourite functions are where you want them to be. The phone is now 3G-enabled, and also comes with your favourite game, Snake.
“Our reimagining of the Nokia 3310 has been a global and cultural phenomenon. In a world dominated by smartphones, the mix of nostalgia and a beautiful phone that just keeps going has captured people’s imagination. Our fans around the world have been asking for this iconic phone to support 3G. Fans asked, we listened, and today welcome the Nokia 3310 3G,” said Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer, HMD Global.
Reimagined retro design and new colours
The Nokia 3310 3G will come in four colours: Yellow, Warm Red, Azure and Charcoal, all with a matte finish and silver keypads. The design has been ergonomically designed “for an even better in-hand experience”, and you can see how it looks different from the original below.
The addition of 3G capabilities will allow the phone to be used in more countries around the world – even better if you want to be bare-minimum contactable when travelling, while mostly off the grid.
The phone features up to 6 hours of talk time and 27 days of standby time.
As for me? I’m kinda waiting for the 3210.
The Nokia 3310 3G will be available in Singapore from October 2017 at all major authorised retailers.
