Find The Force augmented reality event hits Singapore – at Toys”R”Us

Toys”R”Us outlets in Singapore are set to be part of the Find The Force Augmented Reality (AR) event. The event rolls out on Force Friday II, Sep 1, and ends Sep 3. With it, successful fans will reveal a new Star Wars: The Last Jedi character via social media, as well as win tickets to the movie’s premiere in Singapore.

The list of participating outlets haven’t been named on the Star Wars: Experience The Force Singapore website – it mentions “select locations” and “Orchard Road”. But thanks to the official Find The Force website lists, it appears that Toys”R”Us isthe only participating location in Singapore. This means that on Sep 1 to 3, it’s time to head to Toys”R”Us at Forum and go crazy with AR scanning!

The pop-up AR event will allow you to “interact” with Star Wars characters, including your favourites and new surprise additions from the film. All you need is the Star Wars app, updated to the latest version. Then, find and scan the Find The Force graphic (seen above) at the location to reveal a character. There’ll be five characters each day for you to take photos and videos with, making it a total of 15 characters in total.

Just to be clear!

While you can’t play right now – you can fire up your updated Star Wars app to take a look at the new Porg characters in AR.

Participants in Singapore stand to win one of three pairs of tickets to the local premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

“Force Friday II is a major milestone in the countdown to Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Star Wars has always championed new technology, and we are excited that augmented reality will allow fans to experience the universe in a whole new way,” said Kathleen Kennedy, President of Lucasfilm.

“Force Friday II puts fans right at the center of the action using augmented reality to bring our characters to life like never before. The technology theme continues in the Star Wars: The Last Jedi product line, which is our most innovative yet – we can’t wait for fans to see what’s in store.” said Jimmy Pitaro, Chairman, Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media.

Singapore will be one of 30 countries where Find The Force takes place. More than 20,000 retail outlets around the world will be involved.
