The Ripplevox crew were giving out free passes to the Kinect for Xbox 360 event at the Red Dot Museum, and without needing to put much thought into it I jumped right at the chance. I was going to bring a friend there, and was going to meet up with a few folk from Twitter, so it looked like it was going to be a fun time. And let’s not forget the whole point was getting some hands on (off?) action with the Kinect, and also getting a chance at winning one (we didn’t win).
In case you don’t want to read through a whole list of words and look at pictures, I’ll summarise the rest of the post here: The Kinect WORKS. Any lag is very slight (but noticeable if you look for it), but once you get the hang of the controls it becomes really fun (and tiring). I’m getting one! (For some reason I forgot to take a photo of the Kinect itself.)
Sadly, no Kinectimals or Brain and Body Workouts there, but with this little sneak preview – colour me interested in getting one. Even for Dance Central alone I think it’ll be a hit. In the midst of the event there was a lucky draw and a mentalist… but man the mentalist was pretty, well, out of point. Points for effort! Xbox points, maybe?
