Not named Anakin? Love sand? It’s time to get out that sunscreen and head to Sentosa for a Star Wars-themed Sentosa Sandsation!
If you’re not whiny like some future Sith Lord, Sentosa Sandsation: Star Wars Edition will take place from Aug 31 to Sep 15 2019. Headed down? Entry into Sentosa is free during this period.
This is just in time for the upcoming school holidays in September. There’ll also be movie screenings throughout the event, with two of the screening dates featuring Star Wars movies.
As mentioned, all entry into Sentosa and the Sandsation is free throughout the event, so feel free to walk in a single file right in. If you’re thinking of Grab-bing down, the promo code “SANDSATION” will get you S$5 your ride into Sentosa.
Internationally renowned local sculptor JOOheng will bring Jabba the Hutt to life throughout the event. Joining JOOheng is some of the world’s best sand masters. These other sand masters will compete in the 3rd edition of the Sentosa International Sculpting Championship, which takes place from Aug 31 to Sep 2.
Want to learn to be as good as them? There’ll be daily sand sculpting workshops by a Master Sculptor on Siloso Beach. There are 3 timeslots: 11am, 2pm and 5pm (except Sep 15: 11am, 1pm and 3pm), and registration is first-come, first-served.
Participants have to be aged 5 years and above, and form groups of up to 3 per group. Each time slot will fit 10 groups, and the 11am slots on Sundays are reserved for Sentosa Islanders members.
