Agnes Garbowska ponies over to STGCC, CB Cebulski returns!

My Little Pony artist Agnes Garbowska and Marvel multi-hyphenate CB Cebulski are heading to Singapore for the upcoming Singapore Toy, Game and Comic Convention (STGCC) in September, joining other guests like Adam Hughes and Jim Cheung! Joining them is the artist Inuyasis and toy makers Huck Gee and Jason Freeny, together with DJs Hige Driver, Yuyoyuppe a.k.a DJ’TEKINA//SOMETHING, DJ D.watt, estha (GEOGRAPHIC) and haLRu (MONOMIND) all set to rock the the Marina Bay Sands from Sept 12 to 13.

Artist and writer Agnes Garbowska is best known for her work on IDW’s My Little Pony, and the STGCC first-timer will be bringing her cute, whimsical style – also seen in work with Aspen Comics, Dark Horse and even cover art for Dynamite’s Red Sonja – to the show, where she and fellow-guest Camilla d’Errico will present STGCC’s first ever Women In Comics panel! You can find out more about her art here, and here’s to hoping that she brings her You, Me, And Zombie book to sell in Singapore.

CB Cebulski needs no introduction – from writing to editing to talent scouting for Marvel, CB has done it all. While he’s now more involved with business development, CB will be back here to stretch his talent-scouting legs and hopefully find the next Ben Ang or Gary Choo! If you’re an artist looking to break into the industry, this is your chance. While he’s been in Singapore before for some other STGCCs and other events, it’s good to see a familiar face – and his love for comics and the industry is truly infectious.

In toys, we have artist Huck Gee, who will be bringing in his brand new platform figure, “The Blank!” for toy collectors. Joining him is Jason Freeny, best known for his dissected work on famous icons such as the Lego minifig and My Little Pony (how about a collab with Garbowska?).

But for something seasonal, a collection of local artists will be creating special STGCC x SG50-customised Munnies. Tell Your Children; Ziqi of Monster Little and Keh Choon Wee; Ong Ean Keat of Keatopia; Mas of Wanton Noodle, and Caramelaw A.K.A Sheena Aw will all be releasing their own SG50-inspired Munnies to celebrate Singapore’s Golden Jubilee. These limited-edition customs will be available for bidding at a silent auction at STGCC, where all proceeds raised will go to child welfare organisation, Club Rainbow, said STGCC. XM Studios is also sponsoring a day out for the children at Club Rainbow, which is really super cool.

STGCC takes place Sep 12 to 13, at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre, Halls B and C.
