Why should you get your STGCC 2012 tickets now? We tell you why

The Singapore Toy, Game and Comic Convention is just slightly more than a month away – and if you haven’t got your tickets yet, why not? If you’re still mulling about this years edition, here are 3 reasons why you should head down right now to get some of them awesome tickets, from the freebies to just what STGCC has to offer.

3) The specials!

Yep – getting your tickets early means some good specials. For starters, anybody who gets a ticket before opening day (i.e. by Aug 31) gets an STGCC 2012 exclusive tote bag. That’s not all for early ticket holders: Flashing your ticketwill get you the official “Pop Culture Drink” of Calpis Lemon Juice with K Jelly for S$0.40 off, making it just S$3. If that doesn’t strike your fancy, you can also get a free topping (except the 3Js) for any of the other Calpis drinks – that, and your cup comes with a pretty little STGCC topping.

That’s not all – ticket holders can get discounts all around Marina Bay Sands, the event venue – the whole list of locations is here. As a bonus, you can get 15 per cent off the Museum All-Access pass – and that’s your discount for going to Harry Potter™ The Exhibition.

And finally, for our overseas friends looking for budget lodging – check out Wink Hostel, which is offering a 10 per cent discount for ticket holders – and if you buy a ticket, you get a chance to win a one-night stay at the Marina Bay Sands!

2) The Exhibitors & Artist Alley
We’ll be going more into this later, but with Sonny Liew, Dave Chua, Koh Hong Teng, Gilamon, Rocketraygun, Keatopia, and IFS (and many, many others) – there’s a lot to do just on the floor itself. Let’s not forget Invasion! Comics loves surprising with they own crowd of guests (on top of the ones they’re already sponsoring), so get your sketchbooks ready!

1) The Guests
While we’re still hoping for more exciting announcements down the line, let’s do a quick run through before our full post about it: Andie Tong, Carlo Pagulayan, Gerry Alanguilan, Mark Torres, Mico Suayan, Stephen Segovia, Jason Paz, Mashi – and of course Leinil Yu and Mark Brooks will be gracing this year’s STGCC. Once again, a great chance to get your sketchbooks ready, and perhaps ask some of them about Marvel NOW! (hint hint, Leinil Yu.)

So if you haven’t got your tickets, what are you waiting for? And don’t forget – One day tickets go for S$15 and two day tickets go for S$25. You can also get the tokidoki package which comes with a one day pass, a tokidoki T-shirt and a totebag for S$50 – and the first 200 will get a free tokidoki toy. Can’t afford them? Those who sign up for a FRANK card with OCBC by July 31 also have a chance of winning tickets.(As for the VIP tickets, sadly, they are all sold out.) And this is only the start of our STGCC coverage – we’ll be hitting you with more detailed news and previews soon enough!
