Road to STGCC 2011 Roundup: Toy Edition

Just about 11 days left to Singapore Toy, Game and Comic Convention, and on this very grand occasion, as we celebrate Singapore’s National Day, what better way than to start off with the “Toy” portion of STGCC? Toys have always played a major part in the festivities of STGCC, and there’s no exception this year, with a few guests and exclusives lined up just for us!

First up we have Andrew Bell, who’s here with his quirky brand of toys and illustrations. Most recently known for his work on Android collectibles in association with Google, Andrew Bell’s going to have the spotlight thrown on him on Saturday at 330pm to 430pm. He’ll also be doing signings on the Walk of Fame on Saturday at 1 to 2 pm, and on Sunday at the same time.

Next up we have Shinichiro Kitai and Koto Nishiyama from DEVILROBOTS. No stranger to our shores, DEVILROBOTS are back again with 2 more of their gang of 5, and you should be able to spot them at their booth throughout the day, with their special exclusive – a 4 inch Gloomy To-Fu Mix.

And finally, a hugely popular figure, Simone Legno will be here. Able to make even our current Miss Singapore Universe melt into a pool of fawning fangirl, the man behind the tokidoki brand has a special collaboration with Singapost – a MyStamp Figurine Set! You can catch him on stage on Sunday at 4 to 5pm, and on the Walk of Fame at 12 to 1pm on Saturday, and 6 to 7pm on Sunday.

And that’s not all – there’re other exclusives waiting, like the Batman Begins 12″ Limited Edition, the Iron Man Mk IV 12″ Limited Edition and 14″ Predator 2 Shadow Predator Limited Edition from Hot Toys. Other exclusives include Bloody Bunny limited vinyl from 2Spot Studio, Dooodolls ceramic mugs and vinyl figures from Dooodolls featuring a new character – Gweeen, Dweey & Liselle’s vinyl toy, FaceCars (racing cars for Facebook?!), Play Imaginative’s ‘Gloomy Sits Down’ prime plush and Mickey Mouse vinyl art figure, Kleekbots, Momoji and Munchy Monsters. Many other smaller toy creators and retailers will also be with their own booths waiting to be discovered. So what are you excited about?
