As climate change wreaks havoc with the Earth, WWF, Google, Netflix, ArtScience Museum and immersive media startup PHORIA have teamed up to bring Rewild Our Planet – what’s touted to be Singapore’s first Social Augmented Reality (AR) experience.
Rewild Our Planet is set to take place from Saturday, 6 April 2019 to Sunday, 2 June 2019 at the ArtScience Museum’s Inspiration Gallery, Level 4, at the Marina Bay Sands.
The experience connects you to nature and the people around you through immersive technology that blends cutting-edge persistent AR technology with content from Netflix’s upcoming documentary series, Our Planet. It’ll combine IMAX-style projections with spatial soundscapes and AR to transport you to the last wilderness landscapes on Earth – from vast Arctic ice caps to the remote jungles of Borneo and coastal seas of Southeast Asia.
At the exhibition, you can interact with the environment and each other to understand how collective action is desperately needed to restore balance and protect the Earth’s vibrant and diverse natural habitats.
As of right now, we’re looking forward to seeing just what this new social AR experience will be like! ArtScience Museum, Google and WWF have worked together on another AR experience before – Into The Wild – and we’re hoping that this takes things to the next level. We’ll see!
