Pixar artist draws Toy Story 4 characters visiting Gardens by the Bay

While Toy Story 4 has only just opened in Singapore cinemas, Pixar animator Mara MacMahon was in Singapore over the weekend ahead of its opening to take part in the Children Festival at Gardens by the Bay.

At the festival, MacMahon conducted three drawing workshops, teaching kids and families how to re-create their favourite characters from Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 4.

MacMahon worked as character designer and rigger on Bo Peep for Toy Story 4. She translated the art department’s designs into a 3D model and adds controls for the animation department, much like how one would sculpt and add strings to a puppet.

At the workshops, MacMahon shared how one would sketch Woody, Forky, Bo Peep and Buzz Lightyear, as well as other characters. MacMahon also created an exclusive Disney and Pixar Toy Story 4 artwork that features characters old an new at Gardens by the Bay. Check it out below!

This year’s Children Festival by Gardens by the Bay is open from now until 30 June 2019. Guests can enjoy the first ever Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 4 themed marble run track in Singapore, a special Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 4 inspired-edition of the Garden Rhapsody, a thrice-nightly light and music show by Gardens by the Bay, as well as complimentary carnival activities.

Toy Story 4 opened in Singapore cinemas on 20 June 2019.
