Hot Toys’ STGCC 2014 lineup revealed

Hot Toys have always been one of the biggest draws at the Singapore Toy, Game and Comic Convention, and this year is no different: They’re pulling out all the stops and bringing some solid figurines just for you to take the look – or if you so fancy, purchase.

I don’t know anybody who doesn’t, at the very least, appreciate Hot Toys and their artistry. The Hong Kong collectible producer first started with military figures, and now they’re indubitably one of the best out there for licensed pieces. Each figurine from them is highly sought after – even from those who can’t afford them. At the past few STGCCs they’ve been figuratively pretty hot, so much so that fights have broken out in the queues for them. And of course, they’ve always had amazing booths during the show – last year’s Iron Man 3-themed booth was a doozy.

Together with local distributor ActionCity, Hot Toys have set up their very own spaceship for this year’s convention – which you can preview above. The space theme isn’t just a coincidence: It’s to celebrate them acquiring the rights to create Star Wars collectible figures – even those from the upcoming Episode VII! (This means that you have to somehow get them very drunk to spill all they know about the movies, if you’re into spoilers ,that is.) With them will be the stormtroopers from the 501st Legion Singapore in the Star Wars zone. That’s pretty cool for the 501 – they’ve usually had their own booth, but this tie-up sounds amazing. The festivities will start with a pre-opening march-past of the Hot Toys booth by the 501st Legion at 9am, which is even ahead of opening hours. Not sure how this works yet.

That’s not all – figurines from Back To the Future, the Alien franchise, Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies, Maleficent, Iron Man 3, Captain America 2 and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will all be present, together with everybody’s favourite misfits: The Guardians Of The Galaxy. Oh, and there also The Transformers Generation 1, to scratch the itch of all the fans of the actual franchise.

There will also be a special Guardians display, with custom made effects. This should be pretty cool, if what we saw last year was a sign. Oh, and there’s a Helicarrier from Captain America 2. What. Can buy pls.

ActionCity will be taking orders for special versions of Hot Toys figures, and customers who pre-pay qualify to get these versions. These include:
