ComiFest 2014 is this weekend!

Animation, comics and games exhibition ComiFest is back for their 2014 edition, to be held this weekend on Aug 9 and 10. They’re returning to their old digs at the (recently renovated) Suntec City Level 3 Concourse. A key highlight, of course, is their support for the local indie scene, so do expect tons of quality local art.

But it’s not just about the art: Two star cosplayers – the guests for this year’s ComiFest – will be making their appearance with onstage Q&As, autographs sessions, photography sessions and even lunch and tea time for their fans. The two stars? Clive, from Singapore, and Onnies, from Thailand. And if you’re game for some action, ComiFest has set up a 6x6m game board where you can challenge them – if you qualify for it.

CanoPix photobooth will also be present, and this year there’s a special mini photo album to store all your photos with the guests of the show. They will be offering discounts if you print more three or more photos at a go, with prices starting at S$2 for a single print.

And there’s another huge exhbitor, The Celestial Zone, who has been playing a major part of ComiFest since its inception. This year marks the 15-years anniversary of The Celestial Zone, and publication company TCZ will will be giving out 1,500 gifts as a token of appreciation to fans, while stock lasts. A 15th Anniversary Art Album of The Celestial Zone will also be launched at the event. And if you cosplay as any of the characters from the comic, the author Wee Tian Beng will be preparing a special gift for you – but you do need to inform them at wtb@tczstudio.com first.

First started in 2011, this year’s edition comes with another slew of exhibitors that are just too many to list – but you can check out the ComiFest website or Facebook page to find out more.
