Unboxing: Something from Sideshow Collectibles! (With bonus cats!)

So… one day we got a nice big package from Sideshow Collectibles. Got us pretty excited really, to finally get this package in our hands – it’s been over a year in the making, and we were just hoping to make a little appearence in it even though we probably ended up looking like (costumeless) clowns.

So – what could this be? The sound of opening boxes could only herald the arrival of the… herald of Galactus!

And the Filver Furfur rises to sniff out potential food sources!

Yep. Looks promising.

And there it rests – the black tablet (well ok it’s a book)! A space feline, and the tablet from 2001! Catlactus casts his most approving gaze.

And there, nestled in the virgin paper womb. The book.

And there it is. A copy for each of us – Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope.

Inside the huge black book rests tons of pictures of cosplayers, some extremely professional and others very, very Sweded, and many other photos of the show floor. On top of that there’s dozens of interviews of various guests, like Joe Quesada here right next to X-23. This is the special edition, so it comes as a hardcover, but you can also get the slightly thinner normal edition. It’s really a rather well done book and great for the coffee table and reminiscing about that time you went to SDCC, or if you want to witness the vibrancy of SDCC via a nice huggable book. Sadly, it didn’t have any pictures of us. We did run down from the hotel the moment we got there so we didn’t have time to get into costume, but well, that’s the rub. Leafing through the pages really brings back memories, so it’s all good. We even met Simone Bianchi while waiting for our turn… and now, to wait for the actual documentary! Maybe we’ll be in there.
