The deluge of year-end blockbusters is upon us, with all new trailers to get us excited. Now comes the new Assassin’s Creed trailer, featuring tons of acrobatic jumping and … a lot of modern equipment.
It’s not a bad trailer by any means – it’s clear that the producers tried their best to explain the whole Animus thing to the general audience who might or might not have known about Assassin’s Creed and how it’s not just about people assassinating other people hundreds of years ago.
Yet, the reason why people love Assassin’s Creed is really all the historical jumping around and stabbing and hiding in carts of hay thing, so it’s a pity that we’re burdened with all the Abstergo stuff.
The trailer does feature lead actor Michael Fassbender doing some of his fassassinations. Here’s hoping we spend more time in the past, than in that shiny, sterile-looking lab. The movie is directed by Justin Kurzel, who directed Fassbender and Marion Cotillard in the amazing-looking Macbeth, so it’s definitely going to look good, at least.
