This month of May, I can’t imagine a better time to be a Lego fan as well as a Star Wars fan. From Legoland Malaysia Resort at Johor Bahru to your local Lego shop, there are so many exciting Star Wars events and offers waiting for you.
As fans around the world celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Star Wars: A New Hope, us geeks here in Singapore and Malaysia can look forward to more Star Wars Lego activities than you can shake a lightsaber at.
From now till 31 May 2017, there are up to 10 awesome reasons to visit Legoland Malaysia Resort including FREE entry for kids dressed in Full Star Wars Costume.
1. Visit the seven special rooms, each depicting scenes from the various Star Wars movies at Lego Star Wars Miniland.
2. Over 100 Star Wars characters will be taking part in the region’s largest Imperial March (only on 13 and 14 May 2017).
3. Photo opportunities with the cutest Dark Lord himself, Lego Darth Vader and dancing Stormtroopers. Plus other familiar Star Wars characters on weekends.

9. Help build a cool Lego Star Wars mural. Only for Legoland Hotel guests.

If you are a Lego collector looking for exclusives, there are a couple of really cool gifts. There’s the FREE Lego Star Wars U-Wing Fighter polybag with more than RM100 purchase of any Lego Star Wars play material and the FREE Lego R2-D2 with more than RM300 purchase of any Lego Star Wars play material.
As a special treat to Lego and Star Wars fans here, Lego will be launching its latest Lego Star Wars merchandise right here in Southeast Asia this week, ahead of other markets.
Top of every collector’s wishlist is probably the UCS (Ultimate Collector’s Series) Snowspeeder featuring opening airbrakes, opening cockpit, rotating rear gun and 2 classic minifigures. Just like most of the other UCS sets, this is a detailed work of art. I might have to keep my UCS Slave One to make shelf space for this beauty.
Other sets on sale this week in Singapore and Legoland Malaysia include:
- Obi-Wan’s Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive featuring spring-loaded shooters and Obi-Wan, Jango Fett, young Boba Fett minifigures and a droid figure.
- The Arrowhead with opening cockpit, more spring-loaded shooters and battering ram as well as 4 minifigures.
- Darth Vader Transformation set where you get to recreate Anakin’s infamous transformation into the Sith Lord. I really like the wounded Anakin minifigure!
- Jakku Quadjumper is a pretty neat set to build plus you get quite an impressive cast of minifigures like Rey, Finn, First Order Stormtrooper and of course, BB-8.
