Trailer for new versions of L.A. Noire hits in glorious 4K
Rockstar Games have released the new trailer for L.A. Noire, this time in glorious 4K. (I bet it looks amazing in 4K! I mean, it looks great in HD, and will someone please buy me a 4K monitor. OTL)
Set against the seedy and violent underbelly of 1940’s Los Angeles, L.A. Noire is the story of decorated veteran and newly minted detective Cole Phelps as he investigates an escalating series of cases inspired by real-world crimes. Each successfully solved case brings Phelps greater success, but also brings him closer to the dark criminal heart of post-war L.A.
Previously released in 2011, the game has been cleaned up for the newest consoles. The new versions for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will feature “a range of technical enhancements for greater visual fidelity and authenticity, including enhanced lighting and clouds, new cinematic camera angles, high resolution textures and more”, both in 1080p and 4K. If you have a Nintendo Switch, you’ll get gyroscopic, gesture-based controls, and new wide and over-the-shoulder camera angles, plus contextual touch screen controls for portable detective work.
AND if you have the HTC Vive, you can get L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files instead, where seven of the original cases are rebuilt for VR.
L.A. Noire launches on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on November 14, while L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files will also hit the HTC Vive on the same day. For more from L.A. Noire and to pre-order the game, visit www.rockstargames.com/lanoire.
