Telltale’s Batman series launches Aug 2, comes with ‘multiplayer’

Batman – The Telltale Series is set to be released worldwide Aug 2 (probably early Aug 3 morning for Singapore), Telltale Games has announced. The first part in the five-episode series, “Realm Of Shadows”, will be available digitally on PC and Mac, PlayStation 3 and 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, and compatible iOS and Android devices.
Telltale said: “Rendered to look like a living, breathing comic book, Telltale’s vision of Batman will feature an award-winning cast of talent, including Troy Baker in the role of Bruce Wayne, Travis Willingham as Harvey Dent, Erin Yvette as Vicki Vale, Enn Reitel as Alfred Pennyworth, Murphy Guyer as Lieutenant James Gordon, Richard McGonagle as Carmine Falcone, and Laura Bailey as Selina Kyle. Additional cast and characters will be revealed as the season progresses.”
At the recent San Diego Comic Con, Telltale unveiled a new feature coming to its game – a “multiplayer” function known as Crowd Play, where gamers can huddle together and vote to decide what the Caped Crusader does next. Designed to accommodate four to 12 players, gamers can vote on their own devices (with web browsers) while watching the game on a separate, shared screen. One day, it’ll be able to support thousands of players (like at SDCC), but it looks like you’ll going to need to rent a cinema for that.
