STGCC’s got game

As the clock ticks down towards STGCC – some of us were previously left wondering that while “Singapore”, “Toy”, “Comic” and “Convention” were spoken for, where was the “Game”? Turns out there was nothing to fear – Singapore Toy, Game and Comic Convention announced just three days ago that there would be a gaming presence, and not a small one at that.

First up, Namco Bandai will be bringing a list of their upcoming titles, which includes One Piece Pirate Warriors, Hitman Absolution, DBZ Kinect and Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 3. Looks like we’ll be able to try out these games, so that’s already a great deal, especially since some of them are also going to be previewed at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show. While some of us will be going all kamehamehaaaaaa on DBZ Kinect – the rest of us might just want to check out if all the allegations of sexism still stands in Hitman Absolution.

Namco Bandai will also be having a Tekken Tag Tournament 2 tournament and a Soul Calibur 5 tournament – and that’s not the only competitive action. The Singapore E-Sports League will run, in conjunction with STGCC, the STGCC ESports Championship Series 2012 Season. Games such as Street Fighter IV: 2012 AE, FIFA 12, Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 and Persona 4 Arena will be up competition, and you can sign up for the competitions here, via an app on the Singapore E-Sports League Facebook page.

Cherry Credits will also be there, bringing Dragon Nest SEA and SD Gundam Capsule Fighter to STGCC. You can catch our preview of SD Gundam Capsule Fighter here.

And there we go! From nothing to quite a bit – we’re most excited about the Namco Bandai previews, how about you?
