No Man’s Sky coming to Singapore Aug 9

During Sony’s E3 presentation back in 2014, a game came out of nowhere to wow the audience – No Man’s Sky. Two years later it looks like its finally ready to land on our planet – and on National Day too! If you have nothing to do that day …

The game will be released in Blu-ray Disc Standard Edition (S$69.90) and Limited Edition (S$107.90).

In No Many’s Sky, you explore a universe with 18 quintillion procedurally generated planets, and gameplay takes you from starship battles between the stars all the way to the planet’s surface. All this, without any scummy loading time! And you won’t just be exploring and planting your flag on new planets (if you’re the first to discover it you get your name on it), but there will be hostile creatures and pirates. It’s hard to explain how expansive and grand the game looks with words – hopefully the trailer (voiced by Rutger Hauer!) above helps.

Seriously, the transition from space onto the planet surface – man, why wasn’t Mass Effect like that.

LIMITED EDITION DETAILS

The Limited Edition, which comes in a premium steelbook case, has some cool stuff:

  • Adventures in No Man’s Sky Comic by Dave Gibbons (!!!), James Swallow and Angus McKie

The upgraded ship has lasers for protection and hyperdrive that allows you to jump to the nearest solar systems – good to get a headstart with, while the units will help you to buy faster ships and better weapons.
