Amy Adams stars as reporter in HBO limited series Sharp Objects, premiering in July

Amy Adams might be best known for her role as Princess Giselle in Disney’s Enchanted – as well as the DC movie’s top reporter Lois Lane. Now she’ll be putting her newshound shoes back on in the upcoming HBO limited drama series, Sharp Objects. Set to run for 8 episodes, Sharp Objects will debut on HBO this July.

Based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Gone Girl writer Gillian Flynn, Sharp Objects stars Amy Adams as Camille Preaker, a reporter who returns to her small hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. Trying to put together a psychological puzzle from her past, she finds herself identifying with the young victims a bit too closely.

Sharp Objects will also star Patricia Clarkson, Chris Messina, Eliza Scanlen, Elizabeth Perkins and Matt Craven, together with Henry Czerny, Taylor John Smith, Sophia Lillis and Madison Davenport.

Jean-Marc Vallée directs all episodes and co-edits the series. Marti Noxon serves as the showrunner and writes several episodes, as does Gillian Flynn. The executive producers are Jason Blum, Charles Layton and Jessica Rhoades, as well as Amy Adams, Gillian Flynn, Marti Noxon, Jean-Marc Vallée, Nathan Ross and Gregg Fienberg.

Sharp Objects debuts on HBO (StarHub TV Ch 601) this July. The series will also stream on HBO GO and will be available on HBO On Demand (StarHub TV Ch 602).
