Shattered Grounds: Blasted Heath

I believe that Shattered Grounds: Nightfall was a huge success. The forums talked about balance, about how this league favoured the lower ladder players because they allowed them to choose where to fight and how to make every battle count, but you know what? I think it doesn’t really matter.

Nightfall was so hotly contested within the last week, with territories switching every which way. It was a really exciting nailbiter right at the end. And MERCS WON. How awesome is that? Hell, anyone that can oust Cygnar as overall league winner is ok in my book.

Besides, other than a medal, and online bragging rights, a win in a Shattered Grounds league doesn’t really get you anything. I’m sure there are the DOOM-sayers that complain that it wasn’t balanced, that people played the league, and what have you, but all I know is that Shattered Grounds got people INTERESTED in Warmachine and Hordes. People were playing just to get the stamps. People were PAINTING just to get the stamps. And I heard that was the case across many an LGS.

And personally, balanced or no, anything that gets people playing and painting and HAVING FUN is ok in my book. What’s more, this is one of the few times I get to play in an organized event. Which is just icing on my cake.

So here it is. Blasted Heath is just around the corner (June 7th to be exact). I think there’ll be people who want to throw down. Which is why I’m more than happy to make more banners, and why I’ll be more than happy to run it again.

I’ll be flying red colours this time. SKORCHED EARTH, KOMRADES.
