STGCC: The Evolution of Cosplay

DISCLAIMER: Writing this in the awesome Media Village at STGCC, which seems to be getting bigger and bigger with each new incarnation – so thank you to the wonderful people at Reed and Ninemer for taking such good care of us! 🙂

At last year’s Singapore Toy, Games and Comic Convention (STGCC) we couldn’t believe our eyes when we saw a very courageous Mystique cosplay (the comic version, not the X-Men movie version) as well as a Black Cat. Seeing Marvel and DC cosplay at a Singapore event (outside of the Movie Mania booth) was just such a rarity in those days.

I say those days because finally, FINALLY, cosplay has come full circle and we’re seeing the likes of Power Girl, Red Robin, Oracle, Poison Ivy, a very… interesting Raven, and SO. MANY. MORE.
