STGCC: Call Me Maybe (the Cosplay edition)

We honestly can’t believe it’s only been a week since the very, very incredible experience that was the Singapore Toy, Games and Comic Convention 2012! We mentioned before how we felt one of the best things about this year’s event was the very impressive diversity of cosplay excellence, and here’s proof undeniable.

Gail Simone, on Twitter, called it “THE MOST ADORABLE THING I HAVE EVER SEEN” and we agree!

Put together by the brilliant mind of Holocam Droid Mezame and MizDesert of FightSaber SG, this video includes cosplayers from a whole range of genres, including Star Wars (naturally), superheroes, the Transformers booth babes from FRANK by OCBC, steampunk, video games, and of course manga and anime.

While we’re honestly a little disappointed that the awesome DC team in its entirety wasn’t featured, we’re truly happy that STGCC has naturally attracted so many cosplay enthusiasts and look forward to many, many more years of pop culture greatness.

Peter Lin

His teenage years spent nursing a giant man-crush on Steve Rogers, the first Captain America, Peter naturally found himself drawn to many other heroes who depicted strong, manly qualities, including the honour-bound warrior Worf, first Klingon in Starfleet, and the muscular rock hard abs of The Thing.

  1. Hey thanks for the write-up!

I’m sorry I wasn’t able to cover the DC characters. Must have been an oversight on my part. I intend to make this an annual thing though. Maybe next year? 🙂

Hopefully next year I’ll be able to cover more characters and come up with something better. Stay tuned to https://www.facebook.com/MezameEnsei !

    Thanks again 🙂
