Troy Chin wins Young Artist Award
A huge congratulations to Troy Chin, who’s won a Young Artist Award this year!
What is the Young Artist Award?
The Young Artist Award was introduced in 1992 to encourage the development of young artistic talents in Singapore. The award is accorded to young artists aged 35 years and below in the year of award, who have shown promise of artistic excellence in the fields of literary arts, performing arts, visual arts and film.
(From the NAC website)
Troy Chin is the writer/artist of Loti and The Resident Tourist, and you can check out his stuff here. Have you checked it out yet? You should!
He’ll also be at a panel tomorrow with Koh Hong Teng, Dave Chua, Morgan Chu and Sonny Liew – you can congratulate him on the spot and get your issues signed then! The panel will be at the Popular Bookfest Singapore 2011, at Suntec City Halls 601 to 603, and the panel will start at 130pm.
And yes, Sonny Liew won a the same award last year!
