Well, if you haven’t heard by now on G&B’s Facebook page …
We thank you all for the care and concern through the emails, SMSes, facebook messages etc. We are happy to announce that GnB will remain intact in Rocher Center till 2013 and will become a new and bigger GnB after that.
When we shift from Bras Basah, we never expect GnB to grow to the level we are now and doing so many events. I believe we will be better and most importantly is that all you members who show such concern to us that truly makes us ONE real comic family.
There’s not much to decontruct from this – and it’s true, G&B has been growing leaps since it’s move from Bras Basah, and I do think it’s only upwards and onwards from here. They do have slightly more than a year to find a new location, so let’s hope it’s even bigger than before, with an equally accessible location. Loyal fans will travel anywhere for their comic fix (see: comics mart, RIP), and while Singapore isn’t all that big, success of events like FCBD does depend on location.
And so that’s that – there was no way they would just roll over and close shop just because the building they were in closed down. They are pledging more “crazy fun” the “uniquely G&B” style, so let’s see where this takes us.
