How to sign up for HBO GO in Singapore

Everyone’s talking about the new streaming service launched in Singapore last month, but I’m here to tell you about how to get on an existing one, just in time for its biggest arrival today. We’ve already revealed how Zack Snyder’s Justice League will premiere in Singapore today at 3.01pm, the same day as in the US. Since we don’t have HBO Max in Asia, it will be available on HBO GO instead.

So here’s a (hopefully!) exhaustive list how to sign up for HBO GO in Singapore, if you haven’t already.

Note that you’re required you to sign up for an account on the app or their website, regardless of which subscription method you use.

  1. Link your StarHub subscription
  2. Link your Singtel TV GO subscription
  3. Link your Singtel CAST subscription
  4. Subscribe to HBO Go directly
  5. Subscribe via meWATCH

Link your StarHub subscription

If you’re already subscribed to the HBO Pak, or any of its predecessors (namely StarHub TV Movies Pass, Box Office Pack, Supreme Box Office Pack and Movies d’Lite Pack subscribers with StarHub TV Go Value-Added Service), then you already have HBO’s on-demand streaming service at no added cost.

Just link your HBO GO account to your StarHub Hub ID.

If not, then you have the option of signing up for the HBO Pak at $13.98 a month, which comes with complementary access to their on-demand streaming service.

Link your Singtel TV subscription

If you’re a Singtel TV subscriber, and you have access to the HBO Pak, then you already can use the on-demand streaming service at no added cost.

Just link your HBO GO account to your Singtel TV number (which can be found on your bill) and your identification number (i.e. NRIC or FIN).

If not, then you have the option of signing up for the HBO Pak at $13.98 a month, which comes with complementary access to on-demand streaming service.

Link your Singtel CAST subscription

Singtel CAST is a pure live streaming service that doesn’t require a set top box. If you have Singtel CAST, you can log into the HBO GO app with your CAST account.

You then have the option of paying $13.98 per month with no contract (via your Singtel bill or directly through credit card) or choosing the 12-month contract option to get 2 months free.

Subscribe to HBO GO directly

If you don’t have an existing StarHub or Singtel subscription or don’t plan to get one, that’s okay!

The on-demand streaming service is available to everyone but requires a smartphone for now. That’s because you have to pay and manage your subscription through the App Store or Play Store.

HBO GO costs $13.98 a month (with a 7-day free trial), a 3-month plan at $35.98 and an annual plan at $119.98.

Subscribe via meWATCH

If for some reason you want to watch HBO GO via Mediacorp’s streaming service meWATCH, you can. I did say this was a (hopefully) exhaustive list.

The on-demand streaming service on meWATCH costs $13.98 a month (with a 7-day free trial) or you can opt for an annual plan at $119.98 a year.

If, for whatever reason, you also want a meWATCH Prime subscription, there are credit card promotions offering discounted HBO GO + meWATCH bundles, but of course they will still cost more than just the regular subscription.

His teenage years spent nursing a giant man-crush on Steve Rogers, the first Captain America, Peter naturally found himself drawn to many other heroes who depicted strong, manly qualities, including the honour-bound warrior Worf, first Klingon in Starfleet, and the muscular rock hard abs of The Thing.

  1. I have just cancelled my subscription to HBO….It is a pathetic and useless service and you will be disappointed.
Don’t waste your money on this trash heap. Maybe they would be better off streaming that stupid dinosaur jumping game you get when google chrome fails to load a website…..
