That’s right, Singapore’s going to have its very own International Cosplay Day. First started last year across several countries, the amazing folk over at The Neo Tokyo Project will be the ones bringing it into Singapore for International Cosplay Day Singapore(ICDS). It’s taking place at the Ngee Ann Polytechnic Convention Centre on Aug 26 (that’s this Sunday) from 10 am to 10pm, so be sure to keep your calendars free!
“Why?” you ask? Well, there’s tons on offer, from international guests to just checking out the local competition. Lead special guest will be Jay Tablante, who we last saw giving an amazing course on cosplay photography in Singapore, and he’ll be here to share even more of his knowledge (and trust us, he has some amazing stories behind his techniques). Joining him will be cosplayers extraordinaire Yaya Han and Jerry Polence, who will both be sharing their cosplay experience on a panel and as judges of the cosplay competition.
Finally, the cast and crew of Cosplay: The Series to film a Singapore special on top of performing at ICDS and opening Singapore’s second annual Cosplay Chess. But of course that’s not all – from board games and miniatures from Paradigm Infinitum, performances from our FightSaberfriends, cosplay competitions, after-party concerts and artists’ alley, there’s going to be enough to keep you busy for the whole day.
Tickets are only S$5 (with an additional S$1 booking fee) from Gatecrash, walk-ins at Pan-In-The-Box, SingPost outlets, SAM Kiosks and STB [email protected] That’s an amazing deal for what seems to be a fun day – and a great warm up for Singapore Toy, Game and Comic Convention – so get your tickets now!
