If you’re hoping to get into Battlefield 1 before its release date on Oct 21, you’re in luck: Developers DICE have released the Battlefield 1 Early Enlister Deluxe Edition worldwide on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. With it, you get the full game up to three days before everyone else.
And it’s not just early access: Those who sign on will get three themed content packs stuffed with weapons, vehicles and other items, as well as three vehicle skins and five Battlepacks. There’s one more bonus: Those with the Enlister Deluxe Edition will get access to a new map, Giant’s Shadow, one week before the rest of the world in December.
So what’s in the themed content packs?
- The Hellfighter Pack, inspired by the Harlem Hellfighters, the first African-American infantry unit and one of the toughest of the Great War. The pack contains themed items based on their heroic deeds.
- The Red Baron Pack, to take to the skies crammed with items inspired by the famous fighter pilot, the flying ace of the German air force.
- The Lawrence of Arabia Pack, where the weapons and items available are based on the adventures of the famous archeologist and diplomat who played a pivotal role in the Arab Revolt against the Ottoman Empire.
Battlefield 1 obviously isn’t the first game in the BF franchise, but it makes a sort of “reset” for the game as it heads back in time for inspiration, instead of future fights (along the streets of Singapore). Looks like there’ll be a pretty epic single player adventure (see trailer above), but as usual there’s going to be a focus on multiplayer.
Battlefield 1 launches on Oct 21 on Xbox One, Origin for PC and PlayStation 4. The Early Enlister Deluxe Edition is available for purchase until Oct 21.
