Borderlands 3 officially announced
The zany world of Pandora is back with the official announcement of the long-awaited (and rumoured) Borderlands 3. There’s a nice long trailer filled with tantalising detail for fans, so check it out above. And yes, Claptrap’s back!

Announced earlier this morning (Mar 29) in partnership with publisher 2K, developer Gearbox kicked off “The Year of Borderlands” by confirming the sequel. The trailer shows the upcoming game is a continuation of the Borderlands’ irreverent humour, frenetic gameplay …. and a slew of returning characters.

Even Rhys, from our game of the year Tales Of The Borderlands (review), makes an appearance, with brand-new moustache in tow.
And let’s not forget the teaser trailer they released a little earlier, which is also chock-full of little hints of to what the sequel might be about.
EVERYTHING OLD IS SHINY AGAIN
For fans of the old games and those who haven’t tried their hands at Borderlands, Gearbox also announced a slew of updates for the older Borderlands games:
- A brand new remastered edition of the original Borderlands called Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition launches on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on April 4.
- A free Ultra HD Texture Pack for Borderlands: The Handsome Collection on consoles, as well as Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Borderlands 2 on PC, also launches April 4.
- All Borderlands 2 DLC will be added to Borderlands 2 VR for PlayStation VR for free this summer.
Gearbox is set to make more announcements for Borderlands 3 on April 3.
